Membership Requirements

Persons eligible for Membership in NC-ANE shall meet the following criteria:

Section 1. Eligibility

  1. Nurse with one-year experience as an academic nurse educator or clinical nurse educator.

  2. Graduate Nursing student enrolled in a Master’s degree program or higher, with at least one year of teaching experience (e.g. clinical instructor or preceptor).

  3. Non-nurse teaching in an academic nursing program with special skills (e.g. research, community organizing, advocacy, policy, lobbying, etc.)

Section 2. Pay the annual membership dues.

Membership Rights

A. Members from Section 1a have the right to run for office and can participate in any of the activities of NC-ANE.

B. Members from Sections 1b and 1c can participate in any of the activities of NC-ANE.

C. Members shall have one vote. There shall be no proxy voting.

D. A general membership meeting will be held at least once a year to report back to the membership the activities of the organization and to gather their input on program planning and other activities.

Strengthening academic nurse educators to elevate their status relative to equitable workload, compensation, benefits, recognition of teaching, scholarship, and service.
