OVERVIEW/DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:
This professional development opportunity will begin with an overview of the publishing process from the writer’s perspective. The presentation will include choosing a topic for publication, choosing an appropriate journal, avoiding predatory journals, and the writing process including editing and readiness for submission. The second part of the presentation will address publishing from the editor’s perspective, discussing strategies for publishing success and identifying and overcoming potential setbacks in the process.

- Apply strategies to improve likelihood of article acceptance by journal editors
- Explain the consequences of publication setbacks
